Description
A pair of philatelic numismatic covers produced by Mercury, Watford. The first item is an Isle of Man commemorative coin cover for the 95th Birthday of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, featuring a single 40p VJ Day issue stamp. It is cancelled with a pictorial circular date stamp from Douglas, Isle of Man, dated 4 August 1995. The cover includes an Isle of Man 1 Crown coin and is serial numbered M 05043 from an edition of 10,000. The second item is a UK Britain in Bloom coin first day cover featuring stamps from the 1997 Floral Greetings issue. These are cancelled with pictorial circular date stamps from Kew Gardens, Richmond, Surrey, dated 6 January 1997. The cover contains a 1 Crown coin and is serial numbered M 1421 from an edition of 3,000. Both covers are presented in protective sleeves on punched display cards.
Condition report:
Both covers are in excellent condition. The stamps are well-centred with clear, crisp strikes of the pictorial cancellations. The envelopes show no signs of foxing, toning, or corner wear. The coins remain bright within their respective housings.
