Description
A large hand-carved wooden sculpture depicting a stylised cat in an upright seated position. The figure is constructed from wood with a visible natural grain, finished in a honey-toned stain with contrasting dark brown pigment applied to the ears, eyes, nose, whisker area, paws, and tail. The facial features include large circular eyes and incised lines for whiskers. The tail is carved in relief and curled against the right side of the body.
Height: 53.5 cm.
Condition report:
The item is in good overall condition with minor signs of wear. There are small chips and loss of dark pigment to the tips of both ears and the end of the tail. A minor surface scratch is present on the left side of the chest.
