Description

A WW2 German 900 silver cigarette case featuring an engine-turned geometric pattern of squares and stars to the exterior. The case is of rectangular form with a bowed profile designed for pocket use. The interior is finished with a gold-wash gilt lining and contains a stamped inscription in German to the left panel. The inscription reads: Meinem Jascha / zur Erng. an die / zusammen verbrachte Zeit / Hl. / Zwickau 1947. The city of Zwickau is located in Saxony, Germany. The case is secured with a hinged opening and a thumb-piece push-button catch.

Condition report:

The exterior engine-turned decoration remains crisp with light surface wear and micro-scratching consistent with age and handling. The interior gilt finish shows some light spotty oxidation and minor wear. The hinge is sturdy and the push-button catch is in good working order.
