Description
A collection of books featuring a four-volume set of The World of Music: An Illustrated Encyclopedia, published by Abradale. The volumes are bound in black grained cloth with red panels to the spines, featuring gilt-stamped lettering and decorative horizontal bands. The set is organised alphabetically: Volume I (A to D), Volume II (E to L), Volume III (M to R), and Volume IV (S to Z). Also included is a single volume of The Lyle Official Antiques Review 1981, published by Lyle Publications. This reference book is bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering and a central silhouette motif to the spine. The books are in octavo to small quarto format.
Condition report:
The collection shows visible signs of age and use. Volume I of the music encyclopedia exhibits significant cracking and tearing to the spine material along the left joint and at the head. Volume IV shows minor fraying to the head of the spine. The Lyle volume displays light shelf wear to the extremities. All volumes are offered without dust jackets.
