Description
A mid-20th-century style hand-painted wooden advertising sign for Kynoch. The sign is constructed from a long, rectangular wooden board with a black painted finish and a thin white line border. The face features the brand name KYNOCH in large blue serif capital letters, each rendered with a cream-coloured drop-shadow to provide a three-dimensional appearance. The wood grain is visible through the painted surface. Two metal screw-eye hangers are attached to the top edge for mounting. Kynoch is a historic British industrial brand associated with the manufacture of ammunition and explosives.
Length: Approximately 120 cm (47 inches).
Condition report:
The sign is in a weathered, vintage condition. There are visible surface scratches, small areas of paint loss, and general wear, particularly concentrated along the edges. The blue pigment in the lettering exhibits unevenness and fading consistent with age and long-term display.
