Lot 87:
Description
A Swiss-made open-face military pattern stopwatch, attributed to Excelsior Park. The timepiece features a cream-coloured dial with specialised multi-coloured scales. The outer track is graduated 1-30 in black, while a secondary inner track is numbered 31-60 in red. A single sub-dial positioned at the 12 o’clock mark registers up to 15 minutes. The dial is marked SWISS MADE at the bottom. The stopwatch is housed in a polished metal case with a hinged back cover. The interior of the cover is hand-stamped with serial numbers 867828 and 9267. It is equipped with a fluted crown, a traditional bow, and an attached large metal jump ring. This configuration is consistent with military-assigned timepieces of the early to mid-20th century.
Condition report:
The dial shows age-related patina and yellowing. The exterior case and interior cover exhibit light surface scratching and tarnish consistent with age and use.
