A British military-issue pocket stopwatch featuring a cream-coloured dial with Arabic numerals from 5 to 60, a central sweep hand, and two sub-dials. The circular metal case, likely nickel-plated, includes a top-mounted crown and a secondary pusher located at the ten o’clock position, indicating a split-seconds (rattrapante) function. The case back is engraved with a crown emblem above the initials A.M. for the Air Ministry, followed by the identification codes 6B-129 and 491-38, signifying its use as a Royal Air Force navigational instrument. The interior features a hinged dust cover with an additional stamped serial number.
Condition report:
The item exhibits significant surface wear consistent with age and service, including pitting, loss of plating, and visible green oxidation (verdigris) on the exterior. The dial shows minor ageing and the crystal has light surface scratches.
