Description
A commemorative newspaper supplement published by the Daily Mirror to celebrate ninety years of the publication. Titled Daily Mirror 1903-1993: The Story of the Century, the front cover features a reproduction of the inaugural front page from Monday, 2 November 1903. The cover includes historical advertisements for businesses including Tiffany and Co., Paquin, Redfern, Debenham and Freebody, and Peter Robinson. Internal pages provide a retrospective of 20th-century news events through reprinted headlines and photographs, including coverage of the 1966 World Cup, the death of Marilyn Monroe, and the conviction of the Kray twins. The item is printed on newsprint and consists of multiple pages of historical reprints and retrospective articles.
Condition report:
The supplement is in used condition with visible signs of handling and age. There are prominent horizontal and vertical fold lines throughout. Creasing is evident across the pages, particularly at the corners. Minor edge wear and small tears are visible along the margins. The newsprint shows light toning consistent with age.
