Description
A collection of W.D. and H.O. Wills cigarette cards housed in a contemporary dark cloth-bound album. The album features gilt-stamped lettering to the front cover reading Wills’s Cigarette Card Album. The contents comprise several illustrated series covering diverse subjects, including the British Empire series. Notable themes include early aviation history featuring hot air balloons, dirigibles, and pioneer aircraft; maritime history depicting a range of sailing vessels and steam-powered ships; and historical military scenes and figures. The cards are displayed within pre-cut slotted pages.
Condition report:
The cloth-bound cover exhibits age-related wear, including surface rubbing, scuffing to the corners, and minor staining. The internal pages and cards remain in generally good vintage condition with some expected toning consistent with age.
