Lot 69:
Description
A bentwood rocking chair designed by Luigi Crassevig, dating to the 1970s. The piece features a dark-stained wooden frame constructed with characteristic steam-bent curves and intricate scrollwork details to the side supports. The chair is fitted with a padded backrest and seat, upholstered in a brown leather-effect material that displays a decorative stitched patchwork pattern. The design incorporates sweeping armrests that transition into the circular scroll elements of the base. No maker’s marks are visible on the exterior of the piece.
Condition report:
The wooden frame shows visible signs of age and use, including scattered scuffs, scratches, and areas of finish loss, particularly concentrated along the rockers, armrests, and lower edges. The upholstery appears well-integrated and remains intact, showing only light surface wear consistent with age.
