Description
A Franklin Mint hand-painted fine porcelain figurine titled Jane Austen’s Marianne from Sense and Sensibility. The figure depicts a woman in Regency-period dress seated on a turquoise and gold-gilded curule-style bench. She is modelled in a pale pink gown featuring a rose-patterned hem and shawl, wearing long white evening gloves and a gold-tone necklace while holding a green reticule. The figure is mounted on a circular base decorated with a floral rug motif and a terracotta-coloured border. The underside of the base is marked with the title, the TFM copyright, and the limited edition number A1035 of 9500. The piece is noted as being crafted in Malaysia.
