Lot 362:
Description
A Victorian double-ended scent bottle dating to the 1890s, featuring a faceted ruby red glass body with an octagonal cross-section. The bottle is designed with two separate internal reservoirs. The 925 silver mounts at either end feature intricate repoussé foliate and scrollwork decoration. One end is fitted with a threaded screw-on cap, while the opposite end features a hinged flip-top lid with a push-button release. The silver mounts exhibit a naturally aged patina.
Condition report:
The item is in good overall condition, showing surface wear and tarnishing to the 925 silver mounts consistent with age and use. The ruby glass body appears free of significant chips, cracks, or deep abrasions. Both the screw-on cap and the hinged lid mechanism are in functional order.
