Description
A Franklin Mint hand-painted fine porcelain figurine titled Elizabeth’s Surprise, inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. The piece depicts a female figure in a Regency-period pink empire-waist gown holding a fan and standing beside a green and white neoclassical pedestal topped with a gold-tone five-arm candelabra. The ensemble is mounted on an oval, patterned porcelain base with a wood-effect edge. The underside is marked Jane Austin’s Elizabeth’s Surprise from Pride and Prejudice, Limited Edition No. 1487 of 9500, Fine Porcelain, Hand Painted, TFM, and Crafted in Malaysia. The lot is accompanied by a small descriptive pamphlet.
Condition report:
The figurine is in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The porcelain surfaces and gold-tone metal candelabra appear well-preserved.
