Description
A commemorative five-pound coin issued by the Bailiwick of Guernsey in 2008 as part of the History of the Royal Air Force series. The reverse features a relief scene of a pilot running toward a Supermarine Spitfire aircraft, with three further aircraft in flight overhead. The legend reads HISTORY OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE with the denomination FIVE POUNDS below. The obverse carries the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, circumscribed by ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY 2008. The coin is struck in a white base metal alloy.
Condition report:
The coin displays significant toning and tarnish across both faces. A small white adhesive label with the handwritten number 722 is attached to the obverse. Visible surface wear and minor contact marks are present.
