Description
A 1997 Hong Kong Handover commemorative philatelic and numismatic first day cover produced by Royal Mail and the Royal Mint. The cover features a photographic background of the Hong Kong skyline overlaid with a red and gold foiled dragon. Inset into the envelope is a brilliant uncirculated Hong Kong five-dollar coin dated 1997. The item is franked with three Queen Elizabeth II 1st class postage stamps, cancelled with a decorative dragon postmark dated LONDON 30 June 1997. Additional features include a pictorial label of a Hong Kong junk boat, the Chinese characters 香港, and official Royal Mail and Royal Mint branding. The cover is numbered with a serial label № 20987.
Condition report:
The item appears in excellent, uncirculated condition. The envelope is free from visible creasing, toning, or edge wear. The coin remains in brilliant uncirculated state as issued.
