Description
A salt-glazed stoneware jug of Westerwald origin. The vessel features a bulbous body decorated with relief-moulded floral and foliate motifs highlighted in cobalt blue slip. The light grey, pebbled surface is accented by horizontal ribbing around the neck and a geometric diamond-patterned band. The jug includes a single ribbed handle with a scrolled terminal and a small pinched spout at the rim. The underside shows an irregular unglazed foot and lacks maker’s marks.
