Description
A commemorative base metal medallion designed by Paul Vincze (1907-1994) to mark the William Shakespeare Quater-Centenary in 1964. The obverse features a relief profile portrait of the playwright facing right, encircled by the text WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE. The reverse displays the Shakespeare coat of arms, including a shield with a diagonal band containing a spear, topped with a helmet and falcon crest. The coat of arms is flanked by the years 1564 and 1964 and the text SHAKESPEARE QUATER-CENTENARY. The medallion is struck in base metal with a matte, aged finish.

Condition report:
The medallion exhibits a matte, aged finish with visible surface wear and light scratches to both the obverse and reverse. Minor indentations are present along the edge consistent with age and handling.
