Description
A pair of Chinese brassdecorative vases of baluster form. Each vessel features a tall, flared neck leading to a wide, out-turned rim. The exterior is decorated with high-relief cast ornamentation depicting dragons and stylised feathers amidst auspicious swirling clouds, set above a wave-patterned base. The pieces are constructed from cast bronze with a golden-brown patina. One vase features a recessed four-character apocryphal seal mark on the underside which translates to Da Ming Xuande. The interiors and undersides exhibit a matte, as-cast texture with minor irregularities.
Condition report:
Both vases show an aged patina with visible surface oxidation. There are minor scratches and signs of wear across the raised decoration and smooth surfaces consistent with age and handling.
