Description
A collection of various rare Great Britain two pound coins and international currency. The group features a selection of commemorative United Kingdom bi-metallic two-pound coins, including the 2014 First World War Lord Kitchener Your Country Needs You, the 2015 Magna Carta 800th Anniversary, the 2016 William Shakespeare Tragedies and Histories, the 2007 Abolition of the Slave Trade, the 2012 Charles Dickens, the 2006 Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the 2008 London to Rio Handover, and the 1999 Rugby World Cup, alongside specimens of the standard Technology design. The lot also contains various United Kingdom denominations including a George VI sixpence and an Elizabeth II threepence housed in a protective sleeve. United States currency is represented by Washington quarters and Roosevelt dimes. The coins are struck in various metals including bi-metallic, cupro-nickel, and copper-coloured alloys, with some specimens contained in circular plastic capsules.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition, with most items showing signs of circulation consistent with age, including light toning, surface wear, and minor contact marks. One small, dark-coloured coin is notably fragmented.
