Description
An antique industrial-style balance scale featuring a heavy cast iron base and frame. The apparatus is fitted with a large scoop-shaped brass alloy pan and an adjacent flat metal weight plate. The scale is accompanied by a collection of metal weights of various shapes and sizes, including one circular weight marked 4 LB. The construction consists of a cast iron body with a brass alloy pan showing characteristic green patination.

Condition report:
The scale is in an aged and unrestored condition. There is extensive surface rust and oxidation visible across the cast iron base, frame, and weight plate. The brass pan exhibits significant green verdigris patination. The lot shows an accumulation of dust and cobwebs consistent with long-term storage in an outbuilding or warehouse environment.
