Description
A collection of proof-finish coins issued by the Royal Mint, presented in the original red faux-leather folding case. The set contains the circulating denominations for the year 1999 along with two commemorative pieces: a five pound coin struck in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, and a two pound coin issued for the 1999 Rugby World Cup. The coins are displayed within a black panel protected by a clear cover. Included with the lot is the official Royal Mint Certificate of Authenticity and a silver-toned informational pamphlet titled Last Coins of the Twentieth Century. The documentation indicates a maximum authorised mintage of 100,000 sets for worldwide distribution.
Condition report:
The collection is in excellent, well-preserved condition. The coins retain their original proof lustre with no visible signs of toning or handling. The presentation case, clear protective cover, and all accompanying documentation show minimal signs of wear.
