Description
A collection of British philatelic items and commemorative memorabilia primarily focused on the British Royal Family from the late 20th century. The group includes several Royal Mail presentation packs and mint stamp sets featuring subjects such as Diana, Princess of Wales (1961-1997), the 90th birthday of HM The Queen Mother, the 25th anniversary of the Investiture of HRH The Prince of Wales, and the wedding of HRH The Prince Edward and Miss Sophie Rhys-Jones. Also included are multiple first day covers and commemorative envelopes for the weddings of HRH The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer (1981) and HRH Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips (1973), as well as a British Post Office mint stamp pack for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The items are printed on paper and card, with several contained in original plastic protective sleeves. Some covers feature handwritten addresses and circular date stamp postmarks.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in generally good condition. Some first day covers show handwritten addresses and postmarks consistent with postal use. Minor wear is visible to the edges of some card presentation packs. Many items remain in original plastic sleeves.
