Description
This collection comprises various commemorative philatelic items issued by the Royal Mail to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Penny Black postage stamp in 1990. The group includes the 1840-1990 Penny Black Anniversary Stamp Miniature Sheet featuring a reproduction of the 1840 One Penny Black alongside a contemporary 20p stamp. Also present is a corresponding Royal Mail First Day Cover, postmarked 3 May 1990 and addressed to Peter M. Robson. The collection further includes a red presentation folder titled The Queen Victoria One Penny Red, which houses an original used Victorian-era One Penny Red postage stamp with a visible cancellation mark.
