Description
A collection of British military officer rank insignia stars, commonly referred to as pips. Each insignia is constructed from a brass-toned metal and features the Order of the Bath pattern. The central design consists of three crowns within a red enamel band inscribed with the Latin motto TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO. This central motif is set within a green enamel foliate wreath, all mounted upon a diamond-shaped starburst. The reverse of the pieces includes various attachment mechanisms, including split prongs and loops. These badges are characteristic of the rank insignia used by commissioned officers in the British and Commonwealth armies.
Condition report:
The items show signs of service wear and age consistent with use. There are visible losses to the red and green enamel across the collection. The metal surfaces exhibit wear to the original finish, with areas of oxidation and verdigris present. Attachment hardware on the reverse shows varying degrees of wear, with some prongs bent.
