Description
A Dutch Gouda art pottery vase featuring an ovoid body, short neck, and flared rim. The exterior is decorated in the Peli pattern, characterised by abstract Art Nouveau-inspired foliate designs in matte shades of green, blue, and yellow. The decoration is set against a cream-coloured ground and outlined with raised brown linework. The upper section and neck are finished in a matte black glaze. The base bears handwritten markings in a gold-coloured glaze, including Hvt. 253, PL: B., and GOUDA, identifying the maker and pattern.
