Description
A trio of British silver shillings. The group includes a George III shilling dated 1819, featuring the laureate head obverse with the inscription GEOR III D.G. BRITT REX F.D. and a reverse depicting a crowned shield encircled by the Order of the Garter motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. The collection further contains two Queen Victoria silver shillings dated 1897 and 1899. These Victorian issues feature the veiled bust, commonly referred to as the Old Head or Widow Head, with the obverse legend VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP. The reverse of the Victorian coins displays three crowned shields with the denomination ONE SHILLING and their respective dates.
