General Auction Including Collectables, Gold & Silver (14% Buyers Commission)
Lot 80:
Description
A collection of eighteen (18) antique and vintage glass bottles and pharmaceutical vials. The collection exhibits a wide variety of forms, including tall fluted flasks, square pharmaceutical vials, small squat jars, and one wide-mouthed ribbed vessel. The primary material is clear or pale aqua blue glass, consistent with early 20th-century manufacture, though one small squat jar is deep forest green. One bottle retains a ground glass stopper, while others have plain or threaded finishes. The largest bottle, lying horizontally, features heavy exterior vertical ribbing and partially visible embossed text near the neck, likely reading ‘PHOSPHENE’. The collection includes forms consistent with historical pharmaceutical, poison, and household product bottles, such as those used for shoe polish, rubbing alcohol, and ammonia.
