Description
A single commemorative set issued in collaboration with The Daily Mail, dedicated to the First World War (1914–1918) and the historical concept of the King’s Shilling. The set consists of a circular medallion embedded within a descriptive card insert, all sealed within a clear plastic protective sleeve. The front of the card features a sepia-toned image of a soldier in a trench and is inscribed “First World War Commemorative King’s Shilling.” The obverse of the medallion features a crowned portrait bust surrounded by text, including “COMMEMORATIVE” and “THE DAILY MAIL.” The reverse of the card is styled as a “POST CARD” and contains text explaining the historical significance of the King’s Shilling and the enlistment of men between 1914 and 1918. The visible reverse of the medallion depicts a crowned crest with the dates “1914 – 1918” and the inscription “WORLD WAR.”
