Description

A framed original pastel portrait on paper attributed to Marjorie Cox (1915-2003). The artwork depicts a realistic head and neck study of a brown and white dog, identified by an attached label as ‘Emma’, possibly an Alsatian or Shepherd mix, wearing a chain collar. The dog is rendered against a neutral taupe background. The work is signed ‘Mayone Cox’ in the lower right corner. It is housed within a modern, bright gold-toned wooden frame, protected by glass and mounted within double matting. An informational tag attached to the frame confirms the artist’s dates and medium (original pastel on paper), noting that a similar work was previously sold at Christie’s.
Frame width: 56 cm
