Lot 63:
Description
A pair of highly detailed, naturalistic polychrome ceramic or porcelain wildlife sculptures, consistent with late 20th-century modelling. The lot comprises two separate pieces. The primary sculpture depicts a raptor, identified by a visible inscription as a Tawny Owl by Leonard, shown in flight and mounted on a faux wooden stump base decorated with green leaves and acorns. This sculpture is affixed to a circular stained wooden plinth. The secondary, smaller sculpture features a brightly coloured passerine bird, likely a tit species, perched on a branch adjacent to a red and yellow apple, situated on a naturalistic base of moulded earth and foliage. The style is highly evocative of popular wildlife collections such as those produced by Wild Wings.
