Description
A philatelic and numismatic commemorative cover marking the 1997 transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong, produced by The Royal Mint and Royal Mail. The cover features a centrally mounted Brilliant Uncirculated five-dollar coin dated 1997, displaying the denominations FIVE DOLLARS and 五圓 surrounding a central Shou symbol. Affixed to the upper right are four red postage stamps depicting Queen Elizabeth II, cancelled with a specialised circular dragon postmark inscribed LONDON 30 June 1997. The cardstock cover is decorated with a lit cityscape background and a large stylised dragon rendered in red and gold foil. A printed serial number No 22951 is visible at the bottom.
