Description
A commemorative philatelic and numismatic first day cover issued by the Royal Mint to celebrate the XIII Commonwealth Games held in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1986. The white envelope features four postage stamps depicting shooting, weightlifting, rowing, and track athletics, each cancelled with a circular postmark dated 24 July 1986. A 1986 commemorative two pound coin is mounted within a die-cut circular opening in the lower-left corner, set against a printed blue and red tartan pattern. The coin reverse displays a central thistle design. The cover includes the Royal Mint logo and the address for Llantrisant, Pontyclun, Mid-Glamorgan.
