Description
A pair of mid-20th-century commemorative medals. The first is a bronze-toned shield-shaped pendant for the British Services Tattoos held in Dortmund and Berlin in 1947. The obverse features a central crest with crossed swords over a horizontally lined shield, flanked by oak leaf sprays. It is embossed with the text BRITISH SERVICES TATTOOS DORTMUND BERLIN 1947 and includes a suspension loop at the top. The second item is a circular bronze-toned medal commemorating the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The obverse depicts a nautical scene with figures on a vessel, inscribed ELIZABETH II and dated 2 JUNE 1953. The reverse shows a crowned profile portrait of the Queen. Both pieces are struck in a copper-based alloy.
