Description

A pair of United Kingdom silver half crown coins. The first example, dated 1889, features the Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria on the obverse with the legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA. The reverse depicts a crowned shield of arms within the Garter, surrounded by the legend BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID DEF. The second example, dated 1896, features the Old Head portrait of Queen Victoria with the legend VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP. The reverse displays a crowned shield within a collar, inscribed HALF CROWN 1896. Both coins are struck in sterling silver.
