Description
A collection of three items related to the 1965 British commemorative Crown issue honouring Sir Winston Churchill. The lot comprises two examples of the coin and the original accompanying information card/Certificate of Authenticity. The coins feature the portrait of Churchill on the reverse, designed by Oscar Nemon, and the profile of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, inscribed ‘ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D.’ and the date 1965. One coin is loose and circulated, while the second is encapsulated in a protective plastic mount. The accompanying documentation details the specifications of the issue, noting that the metal is Cupro-Nickel, sometimes specified as silver-plated cupro-nickel.
