Lot 306: A French Model 1886 Lebel Bayonet and Scabbard
A French Model 1886 Lebel Rosalie spike bayonet and its accompanying tapered steel scabbard. The bayonet features a long, four-sided cruciform steel blade and a bright-finished nickel-silver hilt. The hilt includes a hooked quillon and a functional press-button locking mechanism. Visible stamped markings on the quillon include the serial number L 56479. The steel scabbard has a dark, blued finish and a ball-shaped tip.
