Description
An Alderney five pound commemorative coin struck in 925 silver to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. The obverse features the right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the inscriptions ELIZABETH II, ALDERNEY, and the year 2005. The reverse depicts several figures celebrating with flags and a shield marked COMMEMORATION, surrounded by the text END OF WORLD WAR II 60th ANNIVERSARY and the denomination FIVE POUNDS. The coin is struck with a proof finish, exhibiting mirror-like fields and frosted relief. It is presented within a clear plastic protective capsule.
