Description
This collection consists of a large quantity of used United Kingdom postage stamps, primarily dating from the mid-20th century. The stamps are housed within a rectangular metal Jacob’s Savoury Biscuits tin featuring blue and teal decorative graphics and the branding for The Baker Brothers. The stamps include various commemorative and definitive issues, many with pre-decimal denominations of 4d and 5d. Identifiable subjects include a radar installation, the Declaration of Arbroath 1320, a Happy Christmas design, and the silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II. The stamps are largely off-paper, though some retain paper remnants. The tin lid bears a white adhesive label with the handwritten text MULTIPLE UK STAMPS.
