Description
A Novica artisan handmade soapstone jewellery box in the Wings pattern, crafted in India. The hexagonal hinged box is made from variegated light-coloured soapstone and features traditional jali openwork. The lid is decorated with a central hand-carved lotus floral motif, bordered by concentric hexagonal bands of geometric piercings and foliate scrollwork. The sides of the box are similarly embellished with carved decorative patterns. The interior shows the natural texture of the stone with visible tooling marks from the carving process.
