Description
This stylized elephant figurine is carved from a light-coloured, veined stone, likely soapstone or alabaster. The sculpture depicts an adult elephant with 2 smaller calves standing either side, both resting on an integrated base with a notched perimeter. The design features simplified, smooth forms with notched details along the trunk and the edges of the ears. The piece displays natural colour variations and surface textures inherent to the material.
