A substantial dark-stained oak Welsh dresser or court cupboard executed in the Jacobean Revival style. The piece is constructed in two parts, comprising a shelved open hutch top set upon a closed base. The hutch features a decorative carved frieze above two horizontal shelves, both equipped with spindled wooden rails or galleries. The base section contains three central drawers fitted with metal ring pulls, flanked by two hinged cabinet doors. The doors feature raised geometric paneling surrounding deeply carved heraldic escutcheons. These escutcheons are supported by winged figures, and banners within the carving display the Latin mottoes FIDE (Faith) and FORTUNA (Fortune). The overall construction features heavy molding, geometric paneling, and stands on four turned bun feet.
