Antiques, Collectables, Gold & Silver (14% Buyers Commission)
This lot comprises three items of German beer memorabilia. The central item is a dark green glass swing-top bottle, or growler, identified by raised glass lettering as “Bönnsch, Die Hausbrauerei” (The House Brewery), consistent with the Brauhaus Bönnsch in Bonn. The bottle is fitted with a metal swing-top closure secured by a white ceramic or porcelain stopper and a red gasket. Flanking the bottle are two miniature traditional German-style steins (Bierkrüge). Both steins are constructed of glazed ceramic or stoneware with detailed molded relief decorations and fitted with hinged pewter or base metal lids. The stein on the left features a rural scene with a figure and is inscribed “Wer froh auf leben will” (Whoever wants to live happily/cheerfully). The stein on the right depicts a hunting scene featuring a fox and deer and is marked “JÄGER FREUD” (Hunter’s Joy/Delight).
Bönnsch Bottle Height: 11 cm
