This lot comprises the 1997-1998 United Kingdom Silver Proof Two-Coin Set, presented in its original Royal Mint packaging. These coins represent the first bi-colour £2 coins struck for general circulation in the UK. The set includes both the 1997 coin featuring the Raphael Maklouf portrait of the Queen and the 1998 coin featuring the new Ian Rank-Broadley portrait. The reverse design by Bruce Rushin traces the development of technology from the Iron Age to the Internet. The set includes the official Certificate of Authenticity signed by R de L Holmes, Deputy Master.
