Start price: £25

Estimated price: £50 - £100

Buyer's premium:

A single, wheel-thrown ceramic vessel, likely functioning as a storage pot or tobacco jar, featuring a wide globular body and a distinct stepped or molded collar rim designed to accommodate a lid (now absent). The vessel is finished with a high-gloss, mottled glaze characterized by streaked patterns of dark navy blue, green-black, and rich ochreous brown, suggestive of a multi-fired or slip glaze technique. The wheel-thrown construction is evidenced by visible throwing rings on the interior and base. The base is partially glazed and displays a central impressed marking of the numeral 1. An affixed circular white paper label handwritten with the designation 58G is also present on the base.
