A complete salvaged architectural fireplace assembly comprising a wooden mantelpiece, a marble surround, and a cast iron fire insert with a brass fender. The mantel is constructed of reddish-brown stained wood, likely hardwood or veneer, executed in a traditional style reminiscent of late 19th or early 20th century American or Edwardian design. The cornice features detailed egg-and-dart carving along the frieze, supported by paneled jambs. The internal slips of the surround are polished white or cream-colored marble displaying natural grey and tan veining. Fitted within the opening is a black cast iron fire box and grate. The fire box is fronted by a polished brass surround that incorporates a decorative fender element featuring seven vertical brass balusters.
