The chair is constructed with four turned baluster legs and features curved, rolled armrests. The backrest incorporates several vertical turned spindles beneath a shaped crest rail. The crest rail is adorned with a central carved sunburst medallion flanked by symmetrical incised scrollwork decoration. The main seating surface is hinged and lifts open to reveal the functional commode recess. The recess currently holds a removable, cream-colored circular receptacle insert, likely ceramic or enameled metal.
