A small, decorative wooden chest featuring woven wicker and rattan panels on its exterior. The chest is designed with a hinged, slightly domed lid, secured by a dark metal clasp and complementary hinges. Internally, a reddish fabric ribbon is attached. The wooden structure is accented with dark, possibly painted or embossed, scrolling decorative elements on both the front and the lid. The interior contains a substantial quantity of circulated coins, predominantly brass or bronze-toned, with some silver-toned examples. No specific maker’s marks are visible on the chest.
