A pair of handpainted Japanese ceramic creamer and lidded sugar bowl, dating to approximately the 1930s. Both pieces are decorated with vibrant blue, light green, and cream fields, extensively adorned with raised gold scrollwork and trim. Each features framed cartouches containing a stylized, colorful bird, possibly a pheasant or phoenix, amidst floral elements, displaying a distinct Asian decorative influence. The underside of the creamer is marked in red text “MADE IN JAPAN HANDPAINTED.”
