A Bank of England Ten Pounds banknote, P-379e, issued in 1988, featuring Florence Nightingale. The obverse displays a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown and regalia, with the text “BANK OF ENGLAND” and “I PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND THE SUM OF TEN POUNDS”. It is signed by D.H.F. Somerset as Chief Cashier. The serial number “CX50 392351” is visible twice. A seated Britannia vignette is present in the lower left corner, alongside a central floral motif. The reverse features a portrait of Florence Nightingale, captioned “FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE 1820-1910”, accompanied by a depiction of a hospital ward scene.
