This lot features a small, rectangular wooden box crafted with simple butt or finger-joint construction and a natural wood finish, distinguished by a slightly darker top panel. The box is fitted with brass-toned metal hinges and a corresponding keyhole escutcheon on the front. Inside, the box contains a quantity of assorted metal coins, varying in size, denomination, and metallic composition, including silver-toned, copper-toned, and brass-toned examples. Visible inscriptions on several coins include “ELIZABETH II,” “NEW ZEALAND,” “FIJI,” “CANADA,” “AUSTRALIA,” “ONE SHILLING,” “50 CENTS,” and dates such as “1953” and “1966.” The Latin phrase “OMNIA VINCIT VERITAS” is also discernible on some examples.
